Giacinto Palmieri discovered stand-up comedy in Londra, where he has been based since 2001.

In 2009 he had his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with the show “Italian misfit”, which was both very successful with the audience and earned a good review from Kate Copstick on the Scotsman. In 2010 he was a finalist in the prestigious competition Hackney Empire New Act of the Year. He has been back to the Edinburgh Fringe many times, more recently with thematic shows on Wagner (2014) and Nietzsche. He is also competing a PhD at the University of Surrey on “oral self-translation” or stand-up comedy, i.e. on the experience of translating material when performing in more than one language.
